2025 Software Factory

Glan is a management platform used by a company specialized in naval object certification, operating across Argentina, the United States, and Spain. The system supports administrative, commercial, and operational processes related to certification services, centralizing key business information and allowing the company to work from a single management environment across different markets and fiscal contexts.

Although the platform was not originally developed by our team, over the past year we have taken responsibility for its ongoing support and functional evolution, improving existing features and significantly expanding its scope. One of the most important advances was the addition of a new commercial and operational layer that enabled the system to move beyond certification services and also support product sales. As a result of this evolution, the platform now manages suppliers, stock, sales workflows, and new business requirements tied to product operations.

In addition, the system can generate invoicing adapted to the three countries where the company operates, adding an essential layer of flexibility and fiscal adaptability. The result is a more robust platform, prepared to support an international operation and capable of integrating services, products, and administrative workflows within a broader and more up-to-date business management environment.

Functional evolution of a critical platform for an international operation

This project represents a case of strategic evolution and maintenance over an existing system, where our work focused on understanding a previously built functional base, supporting its day-to-day operation, and expanding its capabilities according to new business needs. Glan was already a core tool for the company, but it required concrete improvements to support growth and adapt to broader commercial and administrative processes.

Our intervention went beyond corrective technical support and included the design and incorporation of new modules and workflows. In particular, the platform was expanded to support product sales in addition to certification services, introducing supplier logic, stock management, and related operational flows. This transformed the system into a more complete solution, with broader operational coverage and stronger alignment with the company’s current business reality.

From a technical standpoint, the entire platform is built on CodeIgniter 4, and our work consisted of maintaining, extending, and strengthening that existing ecosystem. The result is a more versatile solution with greater functional depth, prepared to support multi-country operations, including invoicing for Argentina, the United States, and Spain within a single management environment.
